La Perouse beach in Sydney is another one of the Eastern suburbs hidden gems. Not only do you get to enjoy the beautiful sandy beach, but you will also be able to watch the most beautiful sunset.
The sunset actually brings the crowds along to the area you’ll see lovers, amateur photographers and wedding shoots there.
If you’re in Sydney for only a few days, then make sure you get to see the magical sunset, I promise you won’t be disappointed.
La Perouse peninsula is the northern headland of Botany Bay. You can get buses from the city in Oxford Street that head this way, or you can drive which should take you 30 minutes from the city.
When to go
My favourite time to go is just sunset, I fall in love with it every time.
There are so many restaurants and pizzerias in the area if you get hungry, although there is nothing more cute than taking away the food and eating it by the beach.
The place has a lot of history, the first building in the area was the round stone tower constructed in 1820-22 as accommodation for a small guard of soldiers stationed there to prevent smuggling, and the tower still stands today.
